MISSION AND GOALS
Preserve Seneca Falls’ mission is to recognize, preserve and revitalize the Historic, Cultural, and Architectural Resources of Seneca Falls New York.
It is affiliated with and supported by the Landmark Society of Western New York, the New York State Preservation League, and the State Historic Preservation Office.
It has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as an organization that is exempt from tax under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c) (3).
It is registered with the Charities Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General.
Inform Town of Seneca Falls Residents and the Town Government about the process that resulted in the establishment of the Women’s Rights Historic Park and a New York State Urban Cultural Park, now the Seneca Falls Heritage Area and Visitors Center.
Advise Town of Seneca Falls Residents and the Town Government about the four Historic Districts in the Town of Seneca Falls listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.
Convince Town of Seneca Falls Residents and Town Government that reuse of historic structures is economic development.
Educate Town of Seneca Falls Residents and Town Government about the value of reuse of Historic Structures.
Provide information to Town of Seneca Falls Residents and Town Government about tools that will assist owners who wish to rehabilitate historic structures, using historic tax credits, town historic real property tax credits, and the resources of the Landmark Preservation Society of Western New York, the Preservation League of New York State, and the New York State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO).
Promote similar recognition of the Women’s Rights National Historic Park in Seneca Falls, the site of the 1848 Women’s Rights Convention, to that received by the Independence National Historic Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Hold community meetings, establish a website, generate media information and interest, and engage in other activities to achieve these goals
